We started our visit to Scotland in Bridge of Allan and had a delicious first lunch of fish and chips at the Allanwater Cafe. Minor bump in our service when the kitchen lost our order, but the staff was very apologetic and made it right quickly. The food was delicious and we came back another evening right before closing for some ice cream. What a nice combination!

It's probably the best fish and chips I've ever had in all honesty. Lovely cafe to sit down in, and the service was very quick. The chips were fluffy and perfectly cooked. The fish was massive, and the batter tasted amazing. Then, the ice cream sundae to follow was nice to top it off. Staff very friendly.

Had a medium fish supper from the take away. Was stuffed! Beautiful bit of fish, lovely batter and fresh chips. Very very good.

My favourite Fish and Chip shop in the United Kingdom. Set in the beautiful village of Allanwater, you can choose to dine in, in the cafe, or go to the “take away” side. Now I have been here a number of times and decided on a take away as it was sunny and my little boy wanted to play out: I got the “Medium” fish supper, my other half got a Jacket Potato (she’s on a diet!) and Macaroni Cheese for my son. Food as ever was sublime, beautiful and my little boy, the harshest critique, loved and ate all his Macaroni and Chips! Win win, lovely little day out to here it never ever disappoints.

Service, Food (quantityquality), Location, Ambience, All 5 stars! Value for Money…. haddock, scampi, chips, mushy peas… slurp-slurp! Went twice..

Very kind staff, helped me find a place for my ridiculously large double stroller next to the table so we could leave one toddler to sleep while we had lunch. I ordered a medium fish and chips for the kids to share and a veggie burger, both were large and tasty and the ambiance was lively and easygoing. Highly recommend!

Popped in last night (17.05.25) the fella serving us promptly got a us a table and explained the size of the fish portions (in good detail wae nae lies I might add ) Had a wee chat with us then took our orders. Food was absolutely …

Went for a late lunch (2pm) It was busy when we went in so were sat upstairs. Once it quietened down, we were the only ones upstairs. Food served quickly and was lovely as always. Batter was crispy, chips perfectly done. And ice cream was delicious to finish. We had Turkish delight & and apple sorbet.
